Aldrich members speak at Driggs Idaho Eclipse Events

During the recent trip to Driggs Idaho for the August 21st Eclipse, club president Jim Zebrowski and member Kevin Boucher spoke at a few Astronomy oriented events in the area.

Sunday August 20th

Jim Zebrowski was one of 4 speakers in an eventin Tetonia  promoting astronomy to an audience of 97 enthusiastic people. There was a stargazing event afterwards. Other speakers included…

  • Anne Holland from the Boulder, Colorado based SPACE SCIENCE INSTITUTE. Anne’s professional training includes degrees in Astrophysics and English as well as a Master’s of Science in Space Studies. Anne is the project manager for NASA @ My Libraries.
  • Shane Mayer-Gawlik from the MONTANA SPACE GRANT CONSORTIUM. Shane has an MS in physics and is the programming coordinator for the Eclipse Ballooning project as well as a nightscape photographer and star party host.
  • Lisa Storrie-Lombardi project manager for NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope and NUSTAR (Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array).

Wednesday August 23rd

Jim Zebrowski and Kevin Boucher spoke in the Driggs library to a group of 16 Driggs residents on topics of night sky viewing and astrophotography. Many of our guests spent a long time afterwards asking questions.
